Let's get started
Alrighty, here it is, my first ever blog post!
Hello all and welcome to my little corner of the blogosphere. I’ve dreamt about starting a blog for a while now and I think I finally have enough time to make this dream a reality. I hope you enjoy my projects as much as I do and please don’t be afraid to contact me with ideas and feedback
I cannot remember a time when I didn’t sew. In fact I’m pretty sure I was sewing (though probably not very well!) before I started school. I loved watching my mother sew our clothes and was always hopeful a couple off-cuts would wind their way into my hands ready to be turned into a spectacular (or not so spectacular) creation.
Some of the first things I remember making are a train for my then teenage brother out of Mum’s scraps, I bet he loved it! And coats for our two dogs, who I’m sure were equally thrilled with their snappy new attire.
At the beginning of high school my mother, Vicki Knight, discovered quilting and was soon hooked, and I followed not long after! While I’m mainly a quilter, I also enjoy sewing other projects from time to time. Although I started quilting about 10 years ago I wasn’t able to devote a lot of time to it what with school work, sports, travelling the world and then university, and so I still have a lot to learn. I now try and squeeze in as much sewing and designing time as I can around (and even during!) my shift work hours. So feel free to come along with me on my quilty adventure as I tackle new blocks, tricky curves and some free-motion quilting!
