Slowly Chugging Along
Hi Everyone,
Welcome back to my sewing room. Today’s post is just going to be a very quick update on what’s been happening. To be honest, there has not been a whole lot happening in my sewing life lately, which is why I haven’t been posting a lot. While I do have a great big long list of things to be sewn, designed and mended, not much has been getting done unfortunately.
My friend’s dog-eaten quilt is still sitting on my couch, waiting for me to get back to it. The quilt I’m making for Kaila’s baby has had a little progress made, not as much as it should though, meanwhile the things that need mending keep appearing, and the new quilt pattern ideas keep building up in my head as well. I have got a little bit of work done on baby Lily’s quilt, no where near enough, but a little. Hopefully I’ll get the border blocks finished this week, but we’ll see. I have also just started on the big job of washing my new patchwork fabrics before I can put them away. So far I have only done the greens, they had to go through the wash 3 times before there was little enough colour run for me to be happy! Now I have the boring job of ironing and folding it all., and there’s all the other colours to do as well! Sadly I haven’t found to time lately to get any work done on my videos, they will get there though.
That’s about all that’s been happening sewing-wise. I have been very busy with other things though, puzzles, games, and stories with my little ones, as well as fun trips to the duck pond, library and playgrounds. This past weekend we also went on a fun, impromptu trip to Sydney. I did have plans on getting the blocks for Lily’s quilt done, instead I spent all day Saturday playing in a Catan (my favourite boardgame) tournament and Sunday at the zoo. It was such a great weekend away, and Aaron’s sister and parents were even able to come down from Newcastle to spend some time with us while we were there. Of course the general housework, cooking, and such to keep my household going always takes up a significant portion of my time as well!
So that’s all that’s been happening, not as much sewing as I’d like, but it is slowly chugging along in the background still. Hopefully you’re all getting in plenty of hours in your sewing spaces.
Till next time,
Keep On Stitching :)
