I’m Back!

Hi All,

Sorry about the long time with no updates or anything, but I've been on a bit of maternity leave over the last few months. I'm back now though and squeezing in sewing where I can! I'm working my way through the 52 Week Sewing Challenge on Facebook again this year (hopefully I make it past the first quarter this time) and am also doing the Aussie 52 Week Sewing Challenge at the same time.

My sweet little munchkin is now 10 weeks old and thriving. We've named her Evangeline, and are both completely besotted with her and her cuteness. I can hardly believe she's 10 weeks already! Time has really flown.

I've recently rearranged my sewing set up again, reorganised my patchwork fabric into some new draws a lovely friend gave me, done some quilting work on my bugs and flowers quilt (will I ever finish this quilt?) and made quite a number of smaller projects for the two sewing challenges, including a really cute outfit that Evangeline wore to a wedding not long ago.

With all the cuddling, feeding, settling, and more cuddling my little cutie needs, along with keeping up with the housework and my garden I don't often get much free time to sew, but I'm squeezing it in where I can. Now I just need to find a few more minutes in my day to tell you all here what I've been up to.

A few weeks ago I found this lovely little sewing group to join also. So each Thursday morning I pack Evangeline and my sewing machine into the car and head off to the back room of a little shop in town. The lovely lady working in the shop loves to cuddle Evangeline and so I sew away as fast as I can while she's otherwise occupied and usually get more done in a couple of hours there than I do in a whole day at home! Although all the other group members are grandmothers, we have a lovely time together, sewing and chatting away, and sharing what we're working on. Sewing with friends really is more enjoyable than alone.

Well that about sums up my sewing room activities of late. Now that Evangeline's day is getting a little more predictable hopefully I'll be here more often with updates and pictures of my creations. I am often able to upload a quick picture to my Facebook page with my phone and will endeavour to get back to posting on Instagram as well. So you can head on over to them for quick updates also when I've not had the time to write up a full post here.

Time to go and get some actual sewing done, I should be back soon with some pictures of my projects for you.

Happy Sewing.
